Cancelling or changing a booking

How to change an order that is already held or booked, and what to do about a cancellation today.

Changing a held order

An order that's Held shows a banner reading "This order is Held. Draft fields are locked," and the form goes read-only.

To change it:

1. Open the order and find the Availability section.

2. Click Release Hold. The order drops back to Draft and the fields unlock.

3. Make the change and click Save Changes.

4. Click Place Hold again.

Releasing frees the inventory for anyone else in the window between step 2 and step 4. On tight inventory, do it quickly, or check the confidence chip before you release so you know what you're risking. See What availability and confidence mean.

Changing a booked order

A Booked order is locked the same way, and there is no release step for it in the dashboard today. If a booked order needs to change, the practical route is a new order for the corrected version, and contact us if the original needs unwinding.

Cancelling

Cancelled is a real status: it appears on the status chips and there's a Cancelled tab on the Orders list. But there is no cancel button in the dashboard yet. Nothing in the operator UI moves an order into that state on its own.

What you can do today:

  • Not yet held: a draft that isn't going ahead holds no inventory. Leave it, or clear its line items so nobody mistakes it for live work.
  • Held: click Release Hold. The totes are free again immediately, which is the part that matters operationally.
  • Booked: contact support and we'll sort it out with you.

A richer order workflow, including proper cancellation, is on the roadmap.

Refunds

Owners and managers can refund from the booking's page. Card refunds go back through your Stripe account and show as pending until Stripe confirms them. See Deposits and refunds.
