How OnTote billing works

Your plan price, the online orders it includes, a charge for extra orders, the payments fee on card bookings, and where to read it all back in the dashboard.

OnTote charges you your plan's price, monthly or yearly, plus a charge for any online orders past your plan's monthly allowance, plus a payments fee on each card payment.

The payments fee on card bookings

OnTote takes each card payment on its own Stripe account, as the merchant of record, and transfers it to your Stripe Express account less a payments fee. The rate for your plan is on the pricing page. It includes Stripe's processing fee, so Stripe sends you no separate bill. Nothing is added to what your customer pays.

Your first 14 days are free

Every new workspace starts with a 14-day free trial. No card, no charge, and orders taken during the trial never count toward your allowance.

What the price is

Prices are per plan and published on the pricing page, which is the authority. Each plan has a monthly and a yearly price; yearly is 10 times the monthly price, so 2 months free. The Custom plan is quoted to your operation.

Included online orders

Starter includes 10 online orders a month and Growth includes 30. Custom is unlimited.

An online order is any order placed on your storefront, paid by card or pay-later. Orders you enter yourself in the dashboard, or import, don't count. An order is counted once, when it is first paid, and a refund or cancellation doesn't give it back.

Past the allowance

You keep taking every order. Each online order past your allowance is an extra order, billed after your monthly period on a separate invoice. The per-order price for your plan is on the pricing page.

Money → Fees & pricing shows where you are against the allowance as the month runs.

Reading it back

Money → Fees & pricing in OnTote shows your plan, its monthly price, how many of your included orders you have used, and your booking volume for this month and last, and the payments fees on this month's and last month's card payments.

Nothing on that page is a charge. It is a statement, so the month-end number is never a surprise.

Refunds

A refund comes out of your share of the payment. The payments fee is not refunded, because Stripe keeps its processing fee on a refunded charge too. See Deposits and refunds.
