Checking totes back in

The four condition options on return, and where each one sends the tote.

When totes come back, scan them in. Open Scan, look up the tote by barcode, QR code, or tote ID, and click Check in / Return.

The action only appears for a tote that's actually out. On an available tote it sits under More actions with the reason "Not checked out."

Pick a condition

The check-in panel makes you choose one of four, and each one routes the tote somewhere different:

  • Good, return to available. Straight back into rentable stock.
  • Dirty, send to cleaning. Out of availability until someone marks it clean.
  • Damaged, mark damaged. Out of availability, counted in the pool's damaged number.
  • Needs repair, mark damaged. Same destination as damaged; different word for your records.

This is the moment your counts either stay honest or start drifting, so it's worth doing at the truck rather than from memory later.

Location and notes

Return location is optional ("Warehouse A") and so are Notes. Both are worth filling in when the tote is anything other than clean: "chipped lid," "returned wet." The note lands on the tote's permanent history.

Then click Check In.

Getting a tote back out of cleaning

A tote in Cleaning doesn't come back on its own. Scan it and choose Make available when it's clean and ready. From cleaning you can also mark it damaged, quarantine it, move it, or mark it lost.

Doing a whole load

There's no bulk check-in. It's one tote at a time by design, because the condition call is per-tote. Scan, pick a condition, confirm, next.
