Rental policies and deposits

Your rental agreement, your delivery policy, and exactly what a deposit does today.

Your rental agreement

On Store front, under Customer-facing content, the Rental agreement field holds your terms. Plain text, up to 50,000 characters. Separate paragraphs with a blank line.

Customers must accept it at checkout, and OnTote snapshots the exact text they agreed to onto their order. If you change your terms next month, the order they placed today still carries the version they actually read.

Write it as the terms you'd want to point at in a dispute: late fees, damage liability, what counts as a returned tote.

Your delivery policy

The Delivery & pickup policy field, on the same panel, is where your service area, standard windows, and delivery fees go. It's the general rule customers read before booking; the per-order windows are the specific promise. See Delivery and pickup windows.

Deposits

Each pool has an optional Deposit amount in its Store front editor. Checkout can charge that deposit. When it does, the amount is held, and it is released or retained later. A deposit is not a hold placed on the customer's card.

Per-customer deposit settings

The customer record has its own Security Deposit section (none, a percentage of the order, a fixed amount, or the order amount) alongside a workspace-defined tax profile and a discount percentage. Those values set the deposit for that customer. Checkout can charge it, it is held, and it is released or retained later.
